Courses offered by Suwon Scuba Club

All courses include equipment, all Padi materials, certification and a club t-shirt. We will try to get you pictures of yourself underwater doing the course to show to your buddies.

Each course has an academic part (self study from the Padi manual). There are knowledge reviews testing you have understood the manual, quizzes and then a final exam. If you are not academic, you will get as much help as you need to pass.

Nearly all courses include swimming pool time. This will be done in the pool at Suwon Soccer Stadium. It's a dedicated scuba pool and is perfect for our needs. Swimming pool time will be provided for all courses if the student or instuctor feels it is required.

Every course will involve a trip to Sockcho on the East Sea (Sea of Japan) or in a lake near to the DMZ. Open Water students will do 4 dives, Advance Open Water students will do 5 dives. If the group is large enough, and they want it, the sea dives can be done on Jeju island (diving with Big Blue 33) or even Thailand. We're easy.

All pool and sea time will be done on weekends.

DISCOVER SCUBA DIVING

This is just a taster with no certification. 1 dive.

SCUBA DIVER

This qualifies you to dive to 12M with a Padi pro. 2 pool dives, 2 sea dives.

OPEN WATER DIVER

This qualifes you to dive to 18M with a buddy. 4 pool dives, 4 sea dives.

ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER

This qualifes you to dive to 40M with a buddy. 5 sea dives, possible pool dives.

RESCUE DIVER

This teaches you how to assist others and is and important step to being a diving asset you yourself and others.

DIVE MASTER

The first Padi professional qualification.

SPECIALITIES

SCUBA REVIEW

This is for certifed divers wanted to refresh their skills after a time out of the water. 1 or 2 pool dives and an exam.

DISCOVER LOCAL DIVING

This is a briefing and guided tour of a local dive site. 1 or more sea dives.
